Call Girls - Prostitution and Sex slavery

An introduction to the world of call girls would not be complete without the introduction of the word "CALL GIRLS". In a way, it defines the very essence of what a "call girl" is and what she does. A woman who engages in exchange sex for money. Once considered a rising star in professional politics, until a controversial story regarding call girls and drugs came to light.

In the late nineties, calls from countries like the Dominican Republic where prostitution was legalized were beginning to arrive in larger numbers. With the passing of time and the worsening economic situation in these economically poor nations, many women were forced into the sex trade. This would prove to be an excellent source of income for the women and the government as the amount of taxes they paid to support the brothels was also increased. Increasingly more women were drawn to the idea of working as a call girl or an escort agency worker. It was not long before criminal activity came into play as the women traveling abroad brought them into contact with undesirable men.

Recently there have been reports that a group of Dominican girls working as call girls in Spain are being forced into prostitution by their organized-and possibly violent, owners. In one case, a group of fifteen girls were being kept in a small apartment. All were under 18 years of age and had their families living with them. The owner of this brothel, along with others who ran the escort agency, did nothing to stop the abuse against these girls.

When I was conducting research for an article about call girls, the majority of information I found came from highly reputed websites with long lists of references. All of them described in graphic detail the abuses that the call girls endured. I could not believe that so many people did not want to look at the negative side of what a brothel owner did to some girls working for an escort agency! The most astonishing part was that none of the sites mentioned that they were working with the best possible models in the industry. The worst case scenario was being pimped by a pimp's brother.

A contact who has knowledge of the situation said that some call girls were prostituted by their owners and that they were treated like "whores". This is shocking and I can't understand how anyone could think it acceptable. Clearly, there needs to be laws against this type of conduct and the owners should pay for their crimes. It seems that the only way the authorities can protect women from being exploited by organized sex rings is to go after the criminals and put all the power in the hands of the police.

I would also like to know why the police force chose to go after the owners of brothels rather than pursue prosecution of the pimps? Is it because the authorities realized that brothels are concentrated areas of prostitution and drug activity? The brothels attract a higher level of criminal elements and they need to be taken off the streets. Why wouldn't you want to go after the criminals instead of the victims?

Finally, I want to know why we as a society don't have more stringent laws when it comes to dealing with call girl operations. I have personally heard of instances where, for example, a girl was trafficked from Thailand to New York and remained there as a virtual sex slave. She was beaten, held against her will and treated almost like a slave. Apparently, we as a society don't really view girls as people.

There are so many questions about why we don't see more regulation of brothels and why the government doesn't do something about them. I can only imagine that the government is busy dealing with issues of immigration and the trafficking of women and children. For the most part, we are simply ignorant of the plight of these women and children. We must change this attitude and start protecting the women and children who are trafficked and prostituted on our nation's streets.
